First solo show by Raul Mourão at Museu de Arte Moderna (MAM), in Rio, TRAÇÃO ANIMAL, was curated by Luiz Camillo Osorio and exhibited across three rooms. The exhibition protagonist was movement.
In the first and biggest room, titled PROIBIDO TREPAR, there were eight large kinetic sculptures made of galvanised tubes and clamps. In the second room, the installation SALA/SOMBRA was made of smaller pieces, illuminated by small lamps that projected shadows onto to the walls. The third room exhibited the video PLANO/ACASO (2009).
TRAÇÃO ANIMAL was simultaneous to Luiz Zerbini’s AMOR and Cabelo’s HUMÚSICA, which occupied neighboring rooms in the museum.
