INSIDE/OUTSIDE

2018 – RIO DE JANEIRO, MUSEU DA REPÚBLICA

The exhibition’s title already indicated its proposal: INSIDE, the smaller works are displayed in the Galeria do Lago; OUTSIDE, the gardens of the Palace are invaded by six large scale sculptures in corten steel, some of which measure over 13 feet.

The artist’s film “Bang Bang”, recorded in slow motion, brings forth contrasting aspects of art: frailty and endurance. Made available in 2017, “Bang Bang” establishes a dialogue with a moment of censorship to freedom of expression recently instated in Brazilian contemporary art.
