ARROW SWING WINDOW

2018 – RIO DE JANEIRO, LURIXS ARTE CONTEMPORÂNEA

Back in Rio while still maintaining a studio in New York, the artist presents his seventh solo exhibition at LURIXS Arte Contemporânea. Three displayed artworks occupy the gallery’s street level floor, each using a distinct technique of visual expression: photography, sculpture and painting.

According to the exhibition’s curator Eucanaã Ferraz, a “strange play of proportions” took place, in which the three pieces—ARROW SWING WINDOW—”seem disproportionate relative to the space”. Instead of portraying a realistic image of the city, they opted to evoke the feeling that “the city walked into the gallery without conceding to miniaturization”.
